Every year we look forward to the much-anticipated event Mestieri, Saperi & Sapori del Passato, held in the second week of September, which will enliven the historic centre with workshops, festivals, shows, and guided tours. A two-day immersive experience dedicated to the culture, traditions, and flavours of Marmilla, organised by the Comune, the Pro Loco, the Parco e Museo Genna Maria, and the Cooperativa Turismo in Marmilla.
The event in Villanovaforru represents a unique opportunity to relive ancient crafts and traditions through creative workshops, live craftsmanship, and experiential paths. The event aims to enhance the historical memory of the village and Marmilla, with activities involving families, culture enthusiasts, and curious visitors.
The absolute star will be Villanovese cuisine, with two historic festivals that always attract food lovers:
● Simbua frita cun satitzu (fried pasta with sausage) – Saturday evening
● Cixiri cun peis de procu (chickpeas with pork trotters) – Sunday evening
